The City of Albany

Albany, located in southwestern Georgia, was founded in 1836. It was named Albany in hopes that it would be as successful as Albany, New York.  By the early 1900's, Albany was a bustling rail center. Today, Albany has a rich culture and is a prosperous community. The Union Station house now contains the Thronateeska Heritage Center which has three main parts: The Museum History, the Wetherbee Planetarium, and The Science Discovery Center.
