During the month of November the March of Dimes, Georgia Chapter will host a variety of events in honor of Prematurity Awareness Month. Activities include the Prematurity Summit, Lighting of BellSouth Center in Pink and Blue, and a Prevent Prematurity Rally. Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest is an annual tradition in Helen, Georgia and is in its 35th year. Helen comes alive with ompah music, Bavarian bier, and Polka dancers. Festivities include a parade on Saturday, September 17 at noon, great food, and wonderful entertainment. Some of the bands include Heimatland Musikanten, the Stratton Mt. Boys, Alpenmusikanten, the Atlanta Polka Band, Edi & Freunde, Roland Kurz, the Robert Maul Band, and many more.

Savannah Beach Inn Murder Mystery Weekend Series, "Framed"
November 4-5, 2005
Located at Savannah Beach Inn in Tybee Island, Georgia
Over the course of the weekend, guests will sleuth out clues in a scavenger hunt type search and to compare notes and find the culprit. The Murder Mysteries will be solved on Sunday breakfast where an unsuspecting guest will be "Framed."

Wine Tasting Festival

This festival features more than a hundred wines from around the world for tasting. Entry fee includes commemorative wine glass. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door. The festival benefits the Decatur Arts Alliance.

The 17th Annual Madrigal Dinner at the Historic Windsor Hotel

The lobby of the historic 1892 Windsor Hotel will be transformed into a 16th century castle as the Georgia Southwestern State University Chamber Singers and the staff of the Windsor Hotel present the 17th  Madrigal Dinner. The Windsor lobby will be set as a dining hall in a medieval castle with seating limited to 100 people per evening who will dine on succulent pork loin stuffed with apples, nuts and raisins while being serenaded by the Georgia Southwestern State University Chamber Singers and Brass Ensemble. From 6 to 7pm there will be dutch treat cocktailsand from 7 to 9pm, there will be dinner and entertainment. The price is $32.95 per person and includes tax and gratuity.

From Sideboard to Pulpit: Silver in Georgia

Throughout history, silver has been recognized as a luxury material representing the wealth of its owners or crafters. In this exhibit, there are more than 100 examples of silver made, retailed, owned or presented in Georgia, primarily during the 19th century. It features works by a variety of silversmiths, including objects by Frederick Marquand, one of Georgia’s most beloved silversmiths, and Savannah’s Maria Reigner, who fashioned a silver pie server featured in the exhibition. This is one of the largest exhibitions of Georgia silver in recent decades, and will make directly accessible to Georgians the beauty of the silver that has played mute witness to this state’s history.
