Plains

Plains is a city in Sumter County which was incorporated in 1975.  Plains is the processing center for a nearby farm region that grows peanuts, corn, peaches, and soybeans.  The city was moved in the 1870's to meet the railroad.  Today, you can visit the quaint city of Plains and see the boyhood home of former President Jimmy Carter.
